WarForged

WarForged places players in the role of a seasoned blacksmith returning to their forge in a small medieval town after a long journey. As a key figure in the community, the blacksmith is entrusted with fulfilling the crafting needs of townsfolk and nobles alike—whether it’s forging simple nails and horseshoes or creating intricate swords and sturdy axes. However, time each day is limited, and players must carefully choose which orders to prioritize, with their decisions directly impacting the town’s evolving story and the lives of its inhabitants.

The gameplay is divided into three core systems: smithing, ordering, and management. Players must not only maintain their smithy to keep it operational, but also balance a steady flow of requests from various clients, ensuring their craftsmanship meets the demands of the town. Unlike traditional crafting systems, WarForged offers a more immersive experience through its Undefined Recipes system. Instead of following rigid, predefined recipes, players are given general instructions for basic crafts. but must figure out how to complete more complex tasks using a wide array of tools and skills.

For intricate orders, customers provide diagrams of what they’re looking for, and players must use their arsenal of blacksmithing techniques to bring these designs to life. Attention to detail is crucial; how well players execute each order determines not only their payment, but also how the town itself develops and changes over time.

With WarForged, I aim to challenge how crafting is typically represented in games today and give the crafting process the attention and depth it deserves. Through its unique blend of hands-on crafting, management, and storytelling, WarForged provides a deeply engaging and authentic blacksmithing experience, where every decision and every creation influences the fate of the town.
